Iceland Arrival!

Just a quick post to say we have arrived in Iceland. It is 8:51am here so 4:51 in Ontario. Since Tuesday morning, I've had maybe an hour of sleep maximum. So far so good but I know it's going to hit me soon!
Liz and I are heading to the Blue Lagoon to explore during our 10 hour layover.
Will post more later with pictures!

Until next time,
Jenna

Edit*** A More in-depth view into the events leading up to now-- 1:20pm Iceland time (9:20 Ontario)
So, we left Ennismore at 3:30 after my mum got off work. Liz had already messaged me saying she was en-route. It was all smooth sailing... I even got a hot chocolate-- my last one for a long time, along the way. Once we hit the 407, that's when the trouble started happening. At one point the lanes were all open but we began to hit congestion. At 4, Liz messaged me saying she had arrived, I was still in traffic gridlocked between numerous cars. And my phone was dying. How wonderful. We were barely moving but enough to give us the illusion we were getting anywhere. Finally pulled up to Pearson at 7:15 for my 9:10 flight! Said a hasty goodbye to my parents and was on my way. Liz had warned me the check in line was long... Yes, it was! I waited an hour (though she waited 2). By the time I got my bags checked, I raced through security which didn't take as long as I thought it would. It was 8:32 by the time I made it to the gate and the plane was already boarding. I quickly reminded myself how this was NOT like Thunder Bay and I'd become spoiled! so I boarded the plane and finally got to say hello to Liz, though we weren't seated beside each other. The flight took off at 9:20, and arrives in Iceland at 2:05.. 6:05 Iceland time.

I didn't sleep very well on the plane. Mostly watching episodes of "The Crazy Ones" and "Super Fun Night." Liz and I met up after getting off the plane and decided on our plan for the day. We bought bus tickets to the BSI station in Reykjavik which took about an hour to get to. From there we got a delicious, hasty breakfast and bought tickets to go to the Blue Lagoon! (Thanks for the suggestion, Jenn!).
The Blue Lagoon was amazing!! The water was this opaque colour and the steam floating up off of it provided a great facial! We were sneaky and didn't buy towels (ain't nobody got money for that!) so we had to evade the change room attendant. We chatted about our London to-do list and got excited for the months to come. After our swim we walked around the stone build up and took some pictures. Caught the bus coming back at noon, and because the two separate bus rides were an hour each, I assumed the one coming back would be 2 hours. How wrong I was. Just as I'd settled in with my pillow and earphones, I was woken up by the bus driver telling us we were at the airport... 30 min later!
So now here we are.. we're gotten through security (no lines!), had some lunch.. amazing pizza (but really 2.010 Krona for pizza and water???). So now we relax and wait for our flight to Heathrow to be announced. This time around is much more laid back than last night!
My last Tim Horton's!
